MS Dhoni's Sharp DRS Call in IPL 2025 Stuns Everyone – Watch

Mahendra Singh Dhoni was classy in the manner that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) began the IPL 2025 season by winning against the arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) in the "El Clasico of the tournament. While Dhoni was batting just at the end of the CSK's run chase and did not even score one run - it was his working behind stumps which left the fans, and even his teammates amazed. A prime example occurred in the 18th inning, in which Dhoni recommended CSK captain Ruturaj Dashrat Gaikwad to conduct an DRS review in order to dismiss Mitchell Santner. It turned out that Dhoni's decision was correct.
The final ball in the 18th over CSK speedster Nathan Ellis trapped MI's Mitchell Josef Santner on the pads. The umpire, however, shook his head before deciding that it was not out.
Nathan Trevor Ellis was seen asking Dhoni whether or not the ball is flying too high or if it was thrown in line and Dhoni responded that he instructed Gaikwad to take it to a review.
Hawkeye demonstrated the ball was crashing into the stumps. The umpire had no other choice than to reverse his decision. Dhoni's decision proved to be a brilliant decision.
This was Ellis's reaction to the announcement that appeared as if the man was stunned by the decision to release it. The Australian sprinter was embraced by Dhoni and Chepauk crowd broke out in a rage.
The wicket was left Mumbai in a tepid state at 128/8, with just two overs left. Former CSK player Deepak Chahar was able to deliver several lusty blows in the end of the game, aiding the blue-clad players to get to 155 after 20 overs.
The score didn't seem sufficient. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored a stunning fifty-fifty (53 from 26 shots) and Rachin Ravindra played a key role in bringing CSK to home (65 from 45 balls).
Dhoni was the first to bat in the midst of CSK only needing four runs from eight balls. He then did two dots, leaving Ravindra to take over the proceedings.
